iPhone 4 officially launches in Manila

Although the iPhone 4 has been available for some time now, yesterday marked its official release in the Philippines. As usual, Globe Telecom is the official partner of Apple for the country.
Globe finally unveiled the much desired gadget in their VIP/Corporate Platinum launch party held in Makati. I was able to attend, and let me say that Philippines demand for the iPhone 4 is impressive, even if the phone was available for purchase already by 1 short trip to Hong Kong. But I guess it's always better to buy it from your countries official carrier so that the support is available*.
Globe has actually had the units earlier, but they (and I) had to keep it confidential until the official launch while they settle some business with Apple :)

I was chatting with some of the other attendees in the event, and the atmosphere of excitement was present from the entire venue. People were very happy with finally getting their iPhone 4 after reserving early when Globe agents informed them of the launch several weeks ago.
Kudos to Globe for a great job!

While Globe's VIP/Corporate clients were able to get their iPhone 4's yesterday, they will have another official launch for the rest of their customers this weekend, in New World Hotel and Shangri-La Hotel Makati. But due to overwhelming demand, these events will also be by invitation only. So only those subscribers who reserved earlier will get an SMS invite from Globe where and which hotel and what day/time they can pick up their new toy. As for the rest they can avail of the iPhone 4 when Globe rolls out the units to their business centers nationwide.

I've been playing around with the new iPhone, and will give my reviews and feedback later on.....
(So far it's fantastic!)

*Tip: Unlike most other Apple devices, the iPhones do NOT have full international warranty support. You have to bring it to the Apple accredited shop in the country where you bought it from. Thus providing a potential hassle to those who buy it from foreign countries.

  1. You can choose to buy it in Hong Kong but there will be problems on the support and warranty.

  3. It's the Millennium boxing match or an abomination that spins in a cross code, but what we can say with certainty, in the end, is that it's happening. Once retired all-time great boxer Floyd Mayweather will take UFC star Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.
There has been what it feels like years of speculation about the fight, with so many name calling on both sides. But the two fighters have announced that it is in fact, in.
Yes, that's right, a boxer with a 49-0 record against a man who has never taken part in a professional boxing matchup.
Anyway, here you have everything you need to know about the McGregor vs Mayweather fight.
